Hello Enlighteneds!

Been lurking, occasionally, for ages... and can't write for long now as I have about 20 school reports to write in the next 30 hours (groan, another all-nighter here we come).

Anyway - looking forward to posting occasionally but reading regularly (have gleaned so much from this site already).

But if I may be so cheeky, please might I share a request for support from the Ebony Horse Club?  They are a super charity enabling underprivileged children around Brixton etc. to learn to ride at various locations around London.  Having moonlighted in London riding schools these last few years, I've had the pleasure of teaching these kids a handful of times at my last two places.  They really are fantastic kids and so up for learning.  The experiences they get through Ebony are truly life changing.

The link below, if you scroll down just a little, allows you to vote with just one click.  There's a bit of blurb I've copied underneath.  Please vote by 26th June and maybe pass along your emails if you have more than just a moment.

Thank you so much...  I'm really sorry for just storming in like this with a request, and I acknowledge that some folk can be a little dubious about riding schools... but I'd just like to say that there is some pretty inspiring teaching going on in some of them and some really passionate, dedicated, would-be horsepeople are coming up who would never otherwise have the chance to love these amazing creatures.

Dear All,

We have been shortlisted for the London Legacy Prize for the Beyond Sport Conference. We urgently need your votes to win this prize which is worth £20,000 a year for three years, please pass through your e-mail lists. Please act immediately, voting ends on Friday 26th June.
Thankyou
Ros spearing
Development Director

THANK YOU very very much if you find the time to vote.  I'll be back after reports with a wee chat about my wonderful horse.  Thanks for reading this far.

wave wave wave Hello!  wave wave wave
Been to the site and voted!  Good Luck! And keep us in touch with how it goes.

Sorry guys - didn't mean to mislead.  I got the link from another forum; I'm nothing to do with Ebony Horse Club at all - I was merely working at two of the yards they came to for lessons so taught the groups just a couple of times at each place over a period spanning several years... I just think it's a great charity and can vouch that the kids were ace.

Thanks everyone though - keep voting (will check the link and see if they get it at some point in the future!)

Haven't been keeping an eye on the forum so much recently - nice to see another London person! thumbs
(Mind you, I'm over in West London... and south of the river, so that could be a big barrier!  wink)

Sorry to have missed the thread - Ebony Horse Club sound like a fantastic venture. Hope they did ok!

And I managed to miss a London get together?? doh!
