Hi, i have done the statutory "lurk"  , bought a fhoenix saddle courtesy of dalesponyrider's sharp sales pitch, oops ,sorry ,brilliant advice and encouragement :whistle:and support from Judith, EE saddle fitter. I have learned a lot already and am looking forward to a lot more. My first real learning curve was discovering how to get pics out of photobucket onto here as i will admit to being a total techno-phobe Embarrassed but i think i have managed so below there is
My cherished Hebe, 24yrold IDx  16.1hh mare on tow with "K" my then 4, now 5yrold 17hh+  IDx filly. excuse my scowl,i blame the sun.

then there is my favourite pic  K as she was at 3yrs in the sporthorse showring at malvern

this is my daughter and her 9yrold 17.2hh+ IDx mare eventing at Sapey  a short while ago.

this is Lu, as a 5yr old, now 6, about 15.2hh 7/8th TB ,

This is my very pedigree and very spoilt jersey cow , Wis

and to complete the album, here is the other ageing blonde in the family, Tam , my adored 14yr old retriever, who has everyone at her command!

I live in West Wales, just about as far over as you can go without falling off and i was SO disappointed when Heather cancelled her clinic over here recently as it is so rarely we get anyone to come at all. Another day perhaps.  I do a bit of  everything with Hebe who believes that life is for enjoying and you have to throw yourself at it with a squeal and a fart. devil I have just backed k , which is another reason for joining up here as i need as much help as possible to keep the pair of us on the right track. Lu is a project in the wings  and Wis acts as companion cow whose aim in life is to eat more polos than the rest of them put together.
One hiccup so far is that having bought the fhoenix for K to try to avoid all the saddle fitting problems with a growing youngster, Hebe has taken to it with great aplomb- her big walk is bigger, the problem with left canter strike off is quickly disappearing and it is SO stable on her , even when she packs in one of her huge spooks. I cant get the same feel from it on K so until i can organise a saddle fitting session for her we have reverted to her Keiffer. Life is never straightforward ....!
Anyway, hello to all who have struggled through and  managed to get this far wave

There's some BIIIG and beautiful horses in that intro ouch Cheesy wub (plus a lovely retriever and cow of course  wink)

Sounds like you've quite a handful with that lot, but sounds like great fun all the same! Hope for lots more pics as you progress with K and Lu, and you tell us more about Hebe Smiley

Welcome to EE wave, and hope you sort the saddle problems with K soon!!

Hi Night-mare and welcome!!

Lovely menagerie, btw! Very nice horses indeed!

I didnt cancel the clinic, it was cancelled by the organiser as her mother was taken into intensive care with septicaemic pneumonia. I will be coming up when we can rearrange it thumbs

Hi all, thanks for the welcome and appreciative comments about my girls thumbs
Heather, apologies, perhaps i should have said ,the clinic was cancelled. I havent cancelled my cheque so will live in hope that you can organise another date asap. If you need a guinea pig to demonstrate how to put things right I'm up for it. You will find plenty to work on rolleyes
Pikku Karhu, if you hanker after a Jersey just be aware that under those innocent eyelash batting exteriors lurk souls of machiavellian intent! Just a few of Wis' exploits: there was the day she got into the greenhouse to check out my newly planted seeds. I had to climb in over her ( no problem there, dtr used to ride her bareback) to get to the front to reverse her out over a step through narrow door.We had to squish her belly in and out through the door frame. Result: total hysteria allround. Then there was the day she paddled up river to visit next doors huge beef bull. Result: Total hysteria of a slightly different kind. The one ingrained on my memory is when she slipped her headcollar and escaped at a show and was duly found sampling the floral display in a marquee. Result: Huge relief on my part that all the ladies were of farming stock and saw the funny side of this /much s++t shovelling  to clear up after her. How she got in there unseen i dont know.  :ph34r:So, be warned ,before you are tempted.
Peaches; If you start me off talking about Hebe, we will still be here next year! I bought her as a 2yr old, backed her at 3,and we were safely riding out on open moor within 3 weeks. We have done allsorts and everything together. Her favourite gymkhana game is musical chairs, which she could do on her own , and she has one of the scopiest jumps i have come across. Dressage is stressage in her book but i look on it as equine pilates for her now so we regularly attend  RC rallies where she grumbles her way through the hour and tries to stop by the gallery shelf to raid the biccie tin whenever possible laugh  Last year we discovered Trec at a taster w/e . She thought the obstacle course was a hoot. We lost all marks at the bank which was suppposed to be walked up over and down. She took off 2strides away , landed on top, changed legs and launched off the top with a squeal. She took the level 3/4(?) steps like a cavalry charge with her tail straight up. At this point i chickened out of  attempting the staircase in the interests of my sanity. I love her to bits and poor old K has a VERY hard act to follow, though she is trying hard . I really want to get to grips with her dressage from the beginning so will be following the various classical info sites and discussions  with interest
Regards to all wave

Welcome to EE!   Cheesy  Lovely to read about your menagerie, I have quite a mixed bag myself  laugh.  Are cows easy to keep?  I have sheep but find them quite high maintenance!
