I've seen lots of videos and DVD's over the years, some costing a small fortune but the best I have seen is Heathers one thats FREE for members. So many tell you what to do, but not why or what to do without showing you so you dont really know what the instructor means. Heathers explains things so clearly and then demonstrates the effect doing this has on your horse. Absolutely brilliant. Thank you so much for making this available to us - anyone thats looking at this forum and thinking about being a member, this DVD alone is the reason you should join  - and no, Im not being paid to say this!
I recently went to our Horse of the Year show. I couldnt watch most of the dressage, horses ploughing around on their forehands being hauled around by the reins was just awful to see. I nearly cried when I saw Poppy turning with just a weight aid, why cant people understand that horses are so sensitive. This DVD should be mandatory watching at every pony club and riding school.

Aw  Embarrassed thanks, Amanda!! I am still surprised that so few members have actually wanted one!! Out of 250 full members, I think that only 30 odd have taken us up on it!!

I am currently re-reading Kelly Marks' Perfect Confidence (when I looked at it last summer I ended up buying another horse as a result so it is quite an expensive book).

However, to get to the point, she suggests having a role model, someone whose riding you admire and would like to emulate, and that you watch DVDs of this person riding.  Well thank you Heather, for being that person and providing that DVD - and free!!

I too find it hard to believe only 30 people have taken up this offer, I thought Debbie would have worn out a track to the Post Office.

Thanks Nona!! I am trying to give members as much for their membership fees as I can. I know the DVD was not edited etc, but there is a lot of content on it, for a freebie. I too would have thought that it would have been a popular membership bonus, but never mind, at least those who have it appreciate it!

Your DVD alone is worth the membership fee Heather!  I can't believe so few members want one.

I really enjoyed mine and plan to lend it to my sister and niece.

Maybe people are just like me and a bit disorganised.     Took me ages to sort myself out to get the stamp and it only happened because I had to take some stuff to the post office, otherwise I'd probably still be forgetting to do it.

So come on people, get your act together, the DVD is far and away worth the postage stamp  thumbs thumbs

I thought the DVD was great as well. Everything was explained so clearly and watching Heather ride so sensitively was truly inspirational.

Well, I am glad those of you who have it are finding it useful! Lucie (lmevans) is likely coming down this week to take some video for me, hopefully to get some simulator stuff on youtube to encourage more people to come on the workshops, and also some for the members for the new video section.
