After a heck of a lot of faffing mind you! Firstly took ages to get the rubber bit guards on (a necessity as it is a slidey cheek pelham therefore it is inevitable it will pinch!), having scalded my hand on the boiling water I put them in to soften them up.

Then came half an hour of Michael performing some 'surgery' on the bit with a pair of pliers to open up the curb hook so I could put the curb chain on the right way up (grrrrrrrrrr). Blimmin' good job I'm keeping it really as the curb hook is now slightly scratched.

As my school is frozen to a concrete like consistency, I could only ride in the front paddock (which was also very hard) so we just did lots of walk, halt, reinback, walk transitions, and a bit of shoulder in.
Tilly was certainly champing it a fair bit, so that was good. She does lean on it a little bit more than the Cambridge Pelham, as it is a bit more 'forward cut' (if you see what I mean) so it acts more on the bars of her mouth and a little less on the lips. However, I think that there is more scope for fair negotiation with this bit (fairer on me that is!).
So, hardly an extensive trial, but she didn't put her tongue over it,and there were no strong objections so so far so good!
