Scutter my goat whom I have had since I was in 4th grade (he was 16 ancient for a goat) died today. A horse vet stumbled into the barn to deliver meds and did the kind thing and PTS Scutter who seemed to have had a stroke and was suffering, we were still waiting back for a call from another vet. Thank god the unknowing angel of a horse vet arrived when she did. My friends buried Scutter on their farm. I have always thought about him a lot while I have been away from home. Genuinely missed him (I LOVED my goat) My friends were so kind in taking my goats on after my parents died. When I would visit Scutter would be very happy to see me, rubbing up against me and getting tons of scratches. He had a special 'voice' my mum gave him that only she and I could do. He still remembered his voice and would answer to it. His last days were peaceful filled with cookies and a palace of a stall. He was spoiled and loved to death. My friend stayed with him from morning until the vet arrived at noon. My other goat Mower seems to be doing OK but she is out in the pasture with Tyler the horse...we will see how she is when she comes into night and Scutter is gone.

Scutter was more dog than goat. I loved him to pieces. Just one more piece of my heart waiting over the rainbow bridge for me.
