Following my last thread on our next arrival, some members have been kindly suggesting a list of basic medication, in order to help our donkeys.
So, I am compiling down below a list of our mostly needed/used medication. Considering the pregnant jenny with mange, I wouldn't mind to try homeopathy too.
MEDICATION LIST
- Danilon (anti-inflammatory, same as Bute)*** (got it now, but additional Bute or Danilon packets are always welcome)- wide spectrum antibiotic
- Ivomectina (injections for mange and other parasite disorders)
- Imaverol (wash against mange)
- Hybiscrub*** (got it now)- Multi-vitamins/diet supplements***
- Dewormers (got it now, but wa are always very desperate for these!!!!!)******... we don't even mind if these are passed the 'sell by date' Diet balancers for elderly equines, like Blue Chip or Top Spec would also be much appreciated.
Debbie, the dressings would be great! Thank You.

EQUIPMENT LIST
- Stable and Outdoor rugs (their sizes range from 4ft6"-5ft)... please bear in mind that our climate is different; rugs should be light-medium weight
- Lead ropes (got these now- Headcollars, Pony or P/C size (with the latest additions we are now four short)
We don't mind if these are used, as long as still in working condition.
On account of EE generous help, currently we are ok for lead ropes, saddle pads and hoof trimming tools.
HUMAN HELP
- In terms of human expert support, we've had so far the visit of two professional barefoot trimmers. So far our donkeys have had their feet trimmed and teeth floated, but providing an EE EDT or barefoot trimmer comes to Portugal, please check our darlings.

I'm never tired to say how much important your support has been to us. International support has been our only lifeline, assuring the survival of these donkeys.
I know we cannot save them all, but those who are lucky to come to us deserve a chance. With the decline of trditional farming and modernisation of our society, the mediterrean donkey in our part of the country is literally on the verge of extinction; our project revolves around the attempt to preserve these animals as much as we can.
THANK YOU EVERYBODY... You are WONDERFUL!
