Today I started Tommy's clicker training. He caught on in about five seconds flat and was happily touching the target wherever I held it up.

I thought I would have a go with Tilly. She just looked at the target suspiciously and retreated to the haybar!

Meanwhile Tommy was bouncing up and down in his stable next door shouting 'Me, me, play with me! I know how to play that game!'

Great news! Keep going with Tilly, she will grasp it eventually! Sometimes introducing it outside the stable can help with horses like her.

Saff never saw the point in target training even though it was easy treats    Even now she'll do the least amount of work that she has to.  She really loves clicker for everything else though and gets really excited, she's a physical horse and much prefers to be DOING something.  Strange mare mine

It's fab isn't it? I can't believe how simple the idea was to introduce (Daffy got it quicker than me) and yet it has made such a difference in him so quickly.

I was carrying the mounting block around the school with me today, and Daffy was like "she's holding something, quick, must be a target".
