Thanks AnaE.
It was interesting to watch.

I have the idea that some of the trot work wasn't well defined, but hey, who am I to critique Daniel Pinto???

Ana, what is the name of the horse he is riding, and what breed is he/she?

I just didn't want to assume it would be a Luso!  Anyway, I have no comments as I have no place to critique others, being useless myself!  Thank you for posting the videos though Cheesy

How was the atmosphere this year at Golegă?  Your pictures look it was a little less chaotic than Maria's last year (I remeber Maria's post about a horse rearing and falling :( ).  Perhaps you were just in a quiet corner though!

Is still a "work in progress" horse. The less advanced of the 3 horse shown at the demos. Smiley

Hi Danni, he is riding "Semanário" a Lusitano stallion (you can read it in the film details :P).

I was in Golegă only Thursday and left at 9 p.m. and everything was OK. Didnt see anything really bad. But it seems that Saturday was really crowded! Smiley

If he's the least advanced horse, there's no hope for plebs like me!  Ack, didn't read all of the details on the vids, off to do so now Embarrassed

I'd love to go, but I think the crowds (and some of the men!) might be a bit too much for me

Nahhh... is really an interesting experience and for people that don’t enjoy being in crowded events is just a matter of leaving early. Smiley  Besides all the showing-off there are lots of interesting events and competitions to see.

If you ever want to come, let me know! Smiley

it needs to be seen to be believed. Personally, Saturday was too crowded for me-when we go next year we'll only go for the Saturday night. earlier in the week is lovely though  Smiley

Just been to my yard and I got my trainer's family feedback on this years Golegă.
Appaling! Shocked

- Many horse competitions were cancelled, like the WE finals...
- 33 bars open full with non-horsey drunken hooligans
- Two horses empalled and dead in unsuitable bays...  :'(
- Not to mention to loss of character and horsemanship. It gets worse by the year...
- Thrursday night there were rioting inccidents; the police closed the central school at night and peole rebelled against it, with enevitable aggression inccidents!

Latin blood! My a :-Xe!  >:(

I don't think I'll want to submit Trumpy to all that next year. In fact, when he went with his former owner, one of the horses in their group also got empalled in his bay...

How sad it does seem to be much worse than when I started going many years ago,I must admit I do find the cruelty hard to take.
Maybe Sicab would be a better show to visit in november, it does look more organised and from videos I have seen a very polished show.
