How wide do they adjust to? (My Easisit was widened to about the furthest it could go I believe!)

Are they suitable for a flat backed PRE?

Anyone got any pictures of one I could look at for reference?

Anyone got one 17" or 17.5" they might want to sell?!!!

They certainly go extra wide, I'm not sure if it matters what size they started at though, I seem to remember someone saying they'll easily go 2 sizes larger from their start. Julia at PMG knows a bit about them, I think Barrie Swain told her last time that her's couldn't go any wider  Undecided I've got one, it fits Rija's back shape but is currently too narrow because she had it fitted in the winter and is now carrying summer weight  :Smiley It might fit again soon but I'll need to check.

As I know you know, to get any treed saddle to fit they will need checking and re-adjusting every time the horse changes shape and if your boy is building muscle it might not be practical for you to have your own saddle when you aren't there all the time? Some pros have their saddles refitted every 2 weeks!!!

St.Merryns are fantastic saddles though, a good choice  wink

I've got one that's been adjusted to extra wide for my flat backed connie.

I'm using a Fhoenix now so it needs a new home

they show up for sale occasionally on here, or Saddle-up or IHDG, so worth posting to ask in the wanted sections. Good luck

Hi

My friend has the widest backed lipizanner in the history of mankind - widest back of any horse - check out pics in heather's book for pictures of the delectable Juniper.

She's still very happy in the same saddle that appeared in the book.

My horse has one. I'm never tred to rave about them, just as the Kay Humphries/Barry Swain (Nickeringnotions is selling one, a bargain).
Both lovely saddles!

You can pick up a good bargain on EBay and hopefully have it serviced/fitted by Barry himself.

Thanks all for your help and advice. Sounds a possibility. Problem with buying second hand is the whole buying without trying first. Ends up costing as much as a new one if you can't sell on the ones that don't fit!

SJR- what style/size is yours? And how much would you be looking to get for it? When you say it's extra wide, how wide between D rings is it now?

Chapsi - have you had to have yours re-fitted much? Or does your boy not change shape much?

SJR - just found your ad in the for sale section. Unfortunately 18" seat is too big, i really need 17".

My saddle was serviced by Barry after I bought it and made MW to acommodate Trumpy's rollypolliness and the fact that I don't live in the UK...  :Smiley
Better too large than too narrow. If it's too wide, a type of sheepskin pad or folded Gamgee does the trick.

No, Trumpy doesn't change in width; he has gained muscles, but width wise he is the same. He is a piggy!

I have a black 18" super wide one that I might sell, but I'm in the USA, if anyone else is interested.
