Of Rita, my mums best friend and the lady that insired my love of horses!

The funeral is today, she was a fantasic lady and her and her husband never had kids, when I was small she was like an aunty! My mum is gutted!

She died last Thursday and she was only in her late 50s.  She had smoked most of her life and had very bad emphasima (sp) as well as diagnosed with breast cancer.  But she caught a cold this year and after 2 weeks in bed her body gave up and she had a stroke

Without Rita I don't think I would have found my love for horses!!  She had a gorgeous grey New Forest pony called Darcy who Rita loved.  I remember him jumping out and getting caught in barbed wire and he sheltered the lambs in spring.  He lived to a great age and I hope Rita meets him again!
