I was sent this link:

which I've been told is 'excellent'.  I can't see it at work so could someone check it out for me please?

I cant hear the sound on it and jumped forwards through it, some of the rising trot is a bit tense....and one horse is in draw/running reins.......some good bits though.......but some not so good bits.....but then they look like ordinary riders.....

Well there was no sound for me so i couldnt hear the tutorial, maybe he said "NO DRAW REINS EVER". Thery were side draw reins....although no better really, but horse still was IFV.

I didnt see anyone in that video I would liek to ride like........if thats any indication, but you never know it could of been thier first time on a horse!? (not that im much better)

Initial bits said weight disbruted beatween seat and pelvic bone.....excercises, like bicylce hips, arm stretches etc.....very upright rising trot, and although it looked like they were trying to do sitting trot the right way - they still bounced......

Might we worth watching to see what you do disagree with? Can you watch it at home?

Well lets put it this way (without sound) you arent missing anything you probably havent learned to do (or NOT do) on here already. But it is interesting seeing the video. Undecided Cheesy

Hows that for tact!  Cheesy

It made me giggle every time it said 'fixed'! I didn't have sound either, but basically thought while some of the excercises would be useful, I wasn't sure they understood why certain excercises would help or the reasons behind the problems in the first place. Like that a chair seat isn't going to be "fixed' by just one session with no stirrups when they will probably revert as soon as they get the stirrups back.  Also the chair seat lady looked too upright in her trot when she was 'fixed'. They missed some important points (like how to absorb the movement in the first place) - there was some bouncing going on.  But don't delete it Lynne - it was good for looking at what was good and bad etc.

Like I said, no sound either so not the best assessment of it.

Not great!

none of the riders were very stable - including the trainer! (who I assume is the one on the grey at the start and end) and she was very 'fiddly' with her reins and not absorbing the movement very well.

Some of the exercises were ok, but some were really quite bad...

the first inner thigh stretch is actually very bad for you - ballistic stretching of any muscle or tendon is harmful! bouncing your bodyweight down on your inner thigh to open your hip willl hurt you, full stop! trust me I'm a professional Sports Injury Therapist too now (got exam results last week! 8)), the one where she suggests pulling your ankle up to you butt and pushing the knee down is the same, not good.

and the last one where you pull the muscle out from behind the thigh is useless - it just puts tension into the knee and turns the thigh inwards, closing then hip and pulling the lower calf out. It willl make your ankles hurt, knees ache and stop you riding with any kind of balance!

other than that, an interesting watch!!! :P

i got tickled when the first rider was shown from the rear, described as 'perfectly aligned'............
too bad the SADDLE wasn't aligned!   it is shifted badly to the right!!!

i guess for beginner basics it's not terrible, but like Lucie, i don't think all of those exercises are beneficial.  potentially harmful, esp if tried by a beginner on a potentially spooky horse!  Undecided
