I know a wonderful artist called "Pilar". She regularly posts on HHO under the username of PapaFrita. If you go and have a look she has some of her works in her signature.

Larri Bowes-Davison used to be on here - not sure if she still is? You could google her to have a look at her stuff?

Martyn White did one for me:

If you go onto his 'dogs' page, Jenna the german shepherd is ours.

He's only done a dog for me, but I wouldn't hesitate to ask him to do a horse, if I wanted one.  He's great to deal with too.

Dont know about horses but I had one of my cat done in pastels by a lady called Lorraine Grey
http://www.pastelpetportraits.co.uk/cat_portraits.shtml

She did a fabulous job of my cat from really rubbish photos - he hated the camera and would run off when he saw it! I think his portrait is still on her cat page - in loving memory of Oscar.  Its truly lovely, so not sure how well she does horses but the job she did of Oscars portrait was perfect.

Lesley Anne Hartman- look up her website. I have the most stunning pastel portrait of Spanish Silver, my Arab, so lifelike he could walk straight out of the picture. She captures the spirit, the essence-

She does specialise in Arabians, but does all horses and many other subjects too.
