habituation?!!!!!

has anyone found that when you train your horse something new, they only seem to know it where you taught it? i have noticed this with my mare, i only used to clicker train with her in the school, i taught her to smile, but she would only do this in the school and noware else, when  i ask her it is as if im speaking foreighn to her but she acts like an angel in the school and knows everything i taught her!!!  ???

any one had this problem?

This i normal don't worry!
I think the dolphin trainers call this the "new tank" syndrome!! When the dolphins get moved from the training tank to where they are expected to perform they seem to forget what they have learnt.
Just work through earlier stages when you are in a new area and soon they will do what you have taught them any where you ask.  It also proves that the behaviour or action is truly confirmed.
