All that and a bag of chips!

Does anyone here have a Torsion dressage saddle?  Do you do more than dressage in it?  The stirrups are pretty far back from what I have seen and I would also like to do jumping.  Can you do dressage and jumping in the dressage saddle or not?  Or would the Torsion DUO be good for switching between the two?

Hi I have a torsion deluxe model, that I have done all sorts in, and have jumped 3ft easily in it.  My horse goes very well in it, makes him feel really wide tho, he is a xwide saddle fit and the torsion makes him feel even wider!   Its fine tho when you get used to it and is super comfortable to ride and jump in.

I'm not sure if there is a difference in the position of stirrup rings between the two models but the deluxe is fine for jumping.

which one is the deluxe model?  I am at the web site and all I see is the Endurance, Trekking, Extra light, Standard, Dressage, DUO, Island, BORA, and Western.
Is it the DUO?

Hi you must be on the american torsion site, I think they call the deluxe the trekking model, thats what is looks like anyway.  (not to be confused with the endurance model, thats the one that you can add shims to underneath).

If you go to the torsion uk site it lists the deluxe model, its about £750/800 its the one with 'what they call' a knee and a thigh roll, and extra padding.  The knee and thigh rolls are suede padding down the front section and back section of the flap.  They are not and dont ride like a knee roll on a conventional saddle, not for me anyway.  The saddle certainly feels well padded and very comfortable.  I havent sat on any other model so carnt compare.

You'll will have noticed that torsion recommend the equitex pad as well,  I fully support this as I tried to get away with using other pads, poly pad, and another treeless pad, carnt remember make now, but the equitex pads are much better and make the saddle feel even more comfortable, they dont hold the dirt either and are really easy to keep clean.

I have done the lot in mine, 20 mile enduro rides, schooling, dressage, beach rides, hacking, and showjumping, they make you feel very secure.  I only referred back to my treed saddle for showing classes, think I would have got funny looks if rode into a show ring in a torsion - shame tho - for that reason I bought a ansur just before christmas, but I am still getting to grips with it as even that feels just too much like a treed saddle, carnt feel the horses back move underneath and feel like Ive got nothing to sit on!! -  guess I have been spoilt by my comfy armchair torsion!

If you need any comments feel free to e mail me.    Cheesy
