The new association in charge of the studbooks in Spain (Ancce) has requested a 'state of the stud' form for every registered PRE in the world by the end of December!!!!  We need to have them to the U.K registrar by the 15th December.  Go to www.bapshweb.co.uk for further details or to www.ancce.es.  Even if you don't intend breeding from your PRE but might sell him/her in the future, it is important that you complete one of these forms.  The form asks for a codigo ganadero but if you haven't been allocated one (you can check on the bapsh site) just leave it.  Ancce are going to treat breeders differently from owners so breeders will be allocated a code, for a fee of course, and owners will be allocated a different type of code, for free.

BAPSH have had it on their website for the past week which is no warning at all! Would have thought the regional reps might have contacted people <_<

No time at all! And before Christmas with Christmas post - absolutely ridiculous, makes you wonder how long BAPSH knew about it before sticking it on the website.

All the forms are downloadable from the BAPSH site.

We have only just found out about it.  The form doesn't take long to fill out and as long as it gets to the registrar before Christmas there shouldn't be a problem.  Transferring the studbooks from the Cria who have run them for over 100 years to Ancce who have some very different ideas is going to throw up a lot of problems so keep an eye on the website.
