Not Picking Up On It....

Hi Maz,
It is always so difficult for anyone riding at a riding school to try anything out without being in a lesson situation, where you just don't get the chance. Hacking out does give you a much better opportunity to try a few things, such as feeling the horse's legs coming under or striking off the ground, and actually having time to think about your diagonals and how to feel them!
Julian Marczak who is co owner of Suzanne's riding school in Harrow, is excellent, but a job to get a lesson with as he is so popular!! Likewise, Linda Lee at Lea Valley RS is another truly excellent teacher, but almost impossible to get a lesson with as she only teaches a couple of lessons a week finding a job outside the industry pays the bills rather better. isn't that a sad indictment, and what a waste of a very talented and able teacher.
For those who can travel, I have heard nothing but good reports of Sue Neville-Parker at Arrow Training as Alexis suggests. I think that she also now has some Lusitano schoolmasters- she rang me and asked me for Luis Valenca's phone number to see about finding and importing some schoolmasters. Did she get them Alexis, if you are out there?!!

Unfortunately Suzane's Riding School and Lea Valley RS are both on the wrong side of the river for me. I also doubt they'd be willing to teach me if they're busy as I'm only 15, and I'd only be able to ride there once or twice. Still I'll try the hack idea to get a better idea of the horse moving beneath me.
